College Life Week
Having a college admissions director visit your high school and give a speech for an hour is not very convincing or inspiring.
Our goal is to instill a lasting desire for higher education and the fun and lifelong memories college life brings.
Studies have shown that when high school students visit a college campus, it helps them visualize themselves as students, increasing their knowledge about the college application process, and creating a sense of possibility and belonging. A recent survey from the National Association for College Admission Counseling found that nearly 70% of high school students said a campus visit strongly influenced their decision to attend a college. Visits provide crucial exposure to campus life, allowing students to assess academic offerings, campus culture, and available support systems.
At E5 Social, we take it a step further. Our students visit a college campus in another state. They spend an entire week attending classes and exploring the campus. In addition, they also get to live as a college student outside of campus life as well - attending sports events, meetups, college clubs, and exploring the city. We do this three times throughout the year, each time visiting a new campus.
Our students can then picture themselves as college students because they have actually lived it.
Our hope is that all students who take part in E5 Social attend college.
Beyond the college visits, students are mentored regularly and offered tutoring, counseling, and life skills in order to keep them on track during their high school years; preparing and setting them up for success for their college years.
